Nécessaire The Body Wash

Since I don’t like to go to bed with a day’s worth of filth, I’m a daily night shower-er. Every evening, after shampooing and conditioning my hair, I put my strands up in a claw clip and get to scrubbing with Nécessaire’s The Body Wash. I’ve been through three-going-on-four bottles of this body wash, and it’s the only one I’ve tried that provides a deep, blemish-reducing cleanse without leaving a tight, dehydrated feeling on my skin after showering, thanks to its omega fatty acid-based formulation. Not only does it leave my skin feeling smooth and plump, but Nécessaire’s body wash also diminishes the look of post-breakout dark spots with a brightening antioxidant trio of vitamin C, niacinamide, and vitamin E. I like to massage this wash on my skin with a mesh sponge, like Hanni’s Extra-Long Shower Scarf, for added exfoliation.

KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub

I didn’t even need TikTok to influence me into trying First Aid Beauty’s KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub, because I’ve always been a fan of the brand’s ultra-gentle lineup, so I basically trust-fell into its gritty formulation. When keratosis pilaris on my arms and painful ingrown hairs on my thighs unexpectedly pop up, I break out this alpha hydroxy acid-infused scrub, which provides a double-whammy of exfoliating benefits (but I do use it as a daily scrub on my feet). Its formulation may lean intensive (10% AHAs and pumice-based buffing beads are on its ingredients list), but it somehow doesn’t disturb my usually sensitive skin. And, since it’s a 2024 Allure Best of Beauty Award winner, you can rest assured that most (if not all) of our staffers love this gritty yet gentle body polish as much as I do.

Fur Ingrown Serum

Ingrown hairs have been a huge bane to my existence for as long as I can remember. I’ve been dealing with them for two decades, and during my time on this Earth, I thankfully discovered two things for keeping them to a minimum: switching over to waxing as my main form of hair removal, and slathering on an exfoliating body serum like Fur’s Ingrown Serum. This is one of my all-time favorite pre-moisturizing treatments for my body since it’s gentle enough to use daily and dries down fast as it clears pores with an exfoliating duo of salicylic and lactic acids.

Ultra Repair Body Lotion

After all the intensive exfoliators in my routine, my skin needs moisture replenishment in the form of First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Body Lotion. This body lotion’s formula is made for sensitive skin types like mine, as it’s spiked with soothing colloidal oatmeal and moisturizing squalane. First Aid Beauty’s body lotion is also fragrance-free, so I don’t have to worry about synthetic fragrance-related rashes, another skin concern I’m prone to.
