Hyundai’s 650 HP Ioniq 6N: Track and Daily Performance

Hyundai N Unveils Ioniq 6N at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed

Hyundai Motor’s high-performance brand, Hyundai N, has unveiled its latest model, the Ioniq 6N, at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK. This event is considered one of the largest automobile festivals in the country and serves as a platform for showcasing innovative and high-performance vehicles.

The Ioniq 6N represents Hyundai N’s second high-performance electric model, designed to offer an exceptional driving experience both on the track and in daily use. It combines motorsport expertise, data from Hyundai’s Rolling Lab, and advanced electrification technology to meet the expectations of performance enthusiasts.

Performance Designed for Track and Daily Use

Based on Hyundai N’s three performance philosophies—Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability, and Everyday Sports Car—the Ioniq 6N aims to deliver a thrilling and enjoyable driving experience. The model features a high-performance four-wheel drive system paired with an 84.0kWh high-power battery, providing a maximum output of 478 kW (650 PS) and a maximum torque of 770 Nm (78.5 kgf·m) through the “N Green Boost” feature.

This model also emphasizes driving sensitivity that bridges daily life and high-performance driving. It includes next-generation suspension geometry, ensuring excellent cornering performance and marginal driving ability. The Ioniq 6N is expected to expand the scope of high-performance electric models by combining track capabilities with everyday usability.

Advanced Features for Track and Daily Driving

The Ioniq 6N is equipped with powerful performance features such as “N Launch Control,” which optimizes performance based on road conditions. Its front and rear wheel motors provide a total maximum output of 448 kW (609 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 740 Nm (75.5 kgf·m). With the N Green Boost, this increases to 478 kW (650 horsepower) and 770 Nm (78.5 kgf·m), delivering explosive acceleration.

Hyundai has developed the “N Battery” function to optimize battery temperature and output for different driving scenarios. This includes three modes: Drag for maximum acceleration, Sprint for fast track driving, and Endurance to enhance track continuity. These modes ensure optimal power performance even in various track situations.

Aerodynamics and Design Enhancements

The Ioniq 6N benefits from a sleek sedan design with a better air resistance coefficient (Cd) of 0.27 compared to the Ioniq 5N. A large rear wing spoiler creates downforce for stability during high-speed driving. Additional aerodynamic features include an active air flap in the grill, left and right air curtains in the bumper, a front splitter, and a rear diffuser optimized for 3D undercover and angular length.

The model also features 20-inch forging wheels with a large diameter and 275/35R20 wide tires developed with Pirelli to maximize aerodynamic efficiency and driving performance. A new external color, “Performance Blue Pearl,” highlights the dynamic image of the Ioniq 6N.

Suspension and Stability Enhancements

Next-generation suspension geometry and stroke-sensitive ECS dampers are applied to the Ioniq 6N to provide differentiated driving sensitivity. The low roll center ensures stability when turning, while increased caster trail improves straight-line stability. Reinforcements to the body and subframe enhance direct connection between steering and driving behavior, while hydro G bushings and dual layer bushings reduce vibration and improve horizontal movement.

High-Performance Driving Features

The Ioniq 6N offers numerous high-performance specifications, including Ne-Shift, N Ambient Shift Light, and N Active Sound Plus (NAS+). These features enhance the driving experience by providing immersive environments and realistic sound effects. The N Drift Optimizer allows for a thrilling drift experience, while N Green Boost maximizes motor output for up to 10 seconds.

Other specialized features include N Torque Distribution, N Pedal, N Regenerative Braking, N Track Manager, TPMS Custom Mode, N Race Cam, and Action Cam Mounting. These functions allow for customized driving experiences and improved track performance.

Participation in the Goodwood Festival of Speed

Hyundai Motor showcased the Ioniq 6N at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it participated in the main Hill Climb course. The model was displayed alongside other high-performance variants, including the Ioniq 6N drift specification and Ioniq 6N with N performance parts. A dedicated exhibition space was set up to provide visitors with interactive experiences and showcase the Ioniq 6N lineup.

In addition, Hyundai plans to display the Ioniq 6N, Ioniq 6, and Ioniq 6N lines at the Lotte Premium Outlet Uiwang from Saturday, 12th to Sunday, 20th, offering domestic customers a glimpse into the Ioniq 6 lineup.
