Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh recently shared her admiration for Malaysia, calling the country her “second Hong Kong.” During her visit to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur on July 26, she attended the grand opening of a restaurant and participated in a fan meet-and-greet. The 50-year-old actress expressed her appreciation for the country’s food and scenery, highlighting how comfortable she felt during her stay.
“I had fun getting along with the actors too… Malaysia feels like a second Hong Kong,” she said. Her positive experience was not just limited to the event; since arriving in Kuala Lumpur on July 24, Sheh embarked on what she playfully described as a “non-stop culinary tour.” She indulged in local favorites such as durian, chicken rice, and satay, enjoying the diverse flavors of Malaysian cuisine.
Sheh humorously mentioned that she could finally eat without worrying about losing weight. “Finally, I don’t have to lose weight, so I can eat as much as I want,” she joked. This visit comes after she completed filming for the second season of the drama series Queen of News.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Sheh revealed her interest in returning to Malaysia for future film and television projects. She previously shot scenes for the TVB drama The Heir to the Throne at various locations across the Klang Valley. This trip is also a personal one, as she is traveling with her mother.
“We’ll be staying a few more days to go sightseeing and simply enjoy ourselves,” she said, emphasizing the importance of taking time to relax and explore.

She gained recognition after finishing as first runner-up in the 1997 Miss Hong Kong pageant.
