Lucid Motors Achieves Record Deliveries with Strategic Pricing and New Models
Lucid Motors has seen a remarkable surge in vehicle deliveries, driven by an aggressive pricing strategy and the successful launch of its new Gravity SUV. The company recently achieved its sixth consecutive record quarter for vehicle deliveries, showing significant growth compared to previous periods.
Strong Performance in Q2 2025
In the second quarter of 2025, Lucid manufactured 3,863 cars, representing an 83% increase compared to the same period last year. Deliveries during this time totaled 3,309 EVs, which is a 38% increase from the previous year and a 6% rise compared to the first quarter of 2025, when 200 fewer vehicles were delivered.
The performance for the first half of the year was even more impressive, with the company building and delivering 6,075 cars—58% more than the same period in 2024. This upward trend highlights the effectiveness of Lucid’s recent strategies.
The Impact of Discounts and New Models
One of the key factors behind the increased deliveries was the company’s bold leasing offer for the Air sedan in May. Customers could receive up to $22,500 in stackable discounts if they met specific criteria. This deal effectively reduced the price of the 2025 Air Touring model by a quarter, making it more accessible to potential buyers.
The launch of the Gravity SUV also played a crucial role in Lucid’s success. The automaker has acknowledged that many of its customers are former Tesla owners who are looking for an alternative to the controversial image associated with Elon Musk. According to Interim CEO Marc Winterhoff, half of Lucid’s customers in early 2025 came from this group.
Expanding Customer Base with the Gravity SUV
