According to Spanish authorities, the brothers were driving along the A-52 route in Zamora when one of the tires burst, causing the car to crash and catch fire. Jota and his brother were laid to rest at the São Cosme cemetery following a funeral service held on July 5. Jota’s national team manager, Roberto Martinez, was also present.
