Volta Region Prepares for 7th Trade & Investment Fair

A New Era of Economic Growth: The 7th Volta Trade and Investment Fair

The Volta Region is set to play a pivotal role in Ghana’s economic transformation as it prepares to host the 7th Volta Trade and Investment Fair from November 26 to December 8, 2025. This significant event is organized by the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) for the Eastern, Volta & Oti Regions, in collaboration with the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC), under the leadership of the Regional Minister James Gunu.

This year’s fair carries a powerful theme: “Volta Rising: Building Global Partnerships for a Thriving 24-Hour Economy.” It marks an unprecedented step forward, introducing the first-ever 24-hour fair days. This innovative approach aims to promote night-time economic activity and aligns with the Government of Ghana’s broader vision for a 24-hour economy. By extending the fair’s operating hours, organizers hope to boost participation, enhance business interactions, and significantly amplify the event’s impact on local commerce.

Rebranding the Volta Region as Ghana’s Eastern Gateway

At the core of the fair is a strategic initiative to rebrand the Volta Region as Ghana’s Eastern Gateway to regional markets, including Togo, Benin, Nigeria, and Cameroon. Through this effort, the fair seeks to highlight the region’s economic potential, natural resources, and tourism appeal. The goal is to attract investors, foster cross-border trade, and integrate the Volta Region more deeply into regional and global value chains.

International Participation and Diverse Exhibitions

The 2025 edition will feature a vibrant mix of exhibitors from across Ghana and international countries such as Togo, Nigeria, Namibia, Kenya, India, and Malaysia. Key sectors to be showcased include agribusiness, tourism, ICT, manufacturing, sustainability, and the creative arts. These sectors are carefully selected to drive job creation, innovation, and inclusive economic growth.

Thought-Leadership and Empowerment Forums

Beyond the exhibition, the fair will host a series of flagship forums and summits designed to empower entrepreneurs, promote knowledge exchange, and drive policy dialogue. These include:

  • Volta Investment Summit
  • Women in Entrepreneurship Forum
  • Youth in Entrepreneurship Summit
  • AI & Innovation Forum
  • Creative Arts and Sports Development Fora

These sessions will bring together businesses, policymakers, development partners, and academia to foster collaboration and create actionable outcomes for both the local economy and national development goals.

Community-Focused Pre-Fair Activities

To build momentum and deepen community involvement, the lead-up to the main event includes several engaging activities. These include Corporate Fun Games and the formal launch of the fair, scheduled for August. Additionally, a 4-day curated tourism experience titled “Visit Volta, Experience Ghana” will take place towards the end of September, showcasing the region’s cultural and ecological richness.

A Platform for Inclusive Growth

According to the organizers, the 7th Volta Trade and Investment Fair is more than just an exhibition—it is a driver of jobs, wealth creation, and long-term partnerships. The fair aims to catalyze sustainable investment into the region, promote financial inclusion, and help position Ghana as a competitive trade hub in West Africa.

“The event is an invitation to the private sector, government agencies, development partners, and foreign missions to be part of this transformative initiative,” said the organizers. “This year’s fair will be the most ambitious yet, and the Volta Region is ready to welcome all participants.”
