A New Era of Performance: The Aston Martin Vantage S
Aston Martin is set to unveil a new model that promises to redefine the brand’s performance legacy. The Vantage S, the latest addition to the brand’s lineup, is designed to deliver the highest level of performance among all Aston Martin sports cars. Known for its driver-centric approach and strong driving dynamics, the Vantage has long held a prominent position in the front-engine sports car market.
The Vantage S builds upon this legacy by introducing next-generation performance features. It is expected to become a benchmark for Aston Martin’s front-engine sports cars by incorporating unique design elements both inside and outside the vehicle. This model continues a tradition established by previous ‘S’ variants, such as the DBX S, which also marked an evolution into high-performance versions.
The naming convention with the suffix ‘S’ has been a hallmark of Aston Martin’s high-performance models since the introduction of the ‘Vanquish S’ at the 2004 Paris Motor Show. This was followed by the ‘V8 Vantage S’ in 2011 and the ‘V12 Vantage S’ in 2013, each representing a step forward in performance and engineering excellence.
At the core of the Vantage S is an upgraded version of the 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, known for its robust power output. The Vantage S produces a maximum of 680 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and delivers 800 Nm of torque between 3,000 and 6,000 rpm. This ensures immediate and responsive acceleration across all driving conditions.
To enhance the driving experience, Aston Martin engineers have fine-tuned the accelerator pedal’s responsiveness and sensitivity, aligning it with the specific characteristics of the ‘S’ model. The electronic throttle map is optimized for different drive modes, ensuring a harmonious balance between operation and response.
The powertrain has also been refined to optimize the launch control system, resulting in impressive acceleration times: 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds, 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, and 0-200 km/h in 10.1 seconds. The top speed remains unchanged at 202 mph (approximately 325 km/h), maintaining Aston Martin’s leadership in the front-engine luxury sports car segment.
In addition to performance enhancements, the Vantage S includes improvements in suspension hardware, powertrain mounts, and control software. These changes contribute to increased agility, a stronger sense of unity with the driver, and improved overall stability.
Aston Martin chassis engineers have carefully balanced these upgrades to ensure that the driving experience remains refined and comfortable. The Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers provide enhanced steering responsiveness through hardware tuning and software calibration. The rear auxiliary spring stiffness has been reduced to improve ride comfort, while powertrain mount stiffness has been decreased by 10% to refine movement between the body and chassis.
The directness and responsiveness of the steering have been further improved by mounting the rear subframe directly to the body instead of using rubber bushings. Suspension settings have been precisely tuned to increase responsiveness, strengthen front grip during high-speed cornering, and refine the overall driving balance of the vehicle.
The Vantage S also makes a strong visual statement. The centrally mounted bonnet blade on the front adds a distinctive identity, while the model-specific ‘S’ badge on the front fender highlights its performance credentials. The hand-crafted badge features brass forging, red glass enamel, and customizable chrome finishes.
On the rear, the deck lid spoiler contributes to aerodynamic efficiency, creating additional downforce at high speeds. This helps maintain stability and enhances the vehicle’s dynamic capabilities.
Inside, the Vantage S offers exclusive details tailored to the ‘S’ model. The “Accelerate” interior combines Alcantara® and leather, with carbon fiber trim inlays that enhance the sporty feel. The interior also features embroidered ‘S’ logos and custom detailing, reflecting the craftsmanship and attention to detail that define the Aston Martin brand.
For those seeking a higher level of luxury, the “Inspire Sport” interior option provides a full semianiline leather or combination of leather and Alcantara® with a V-shaped quilting pattern. The interior is completed with meticulous stitching and embroidery, offering a visually striking and luxurious experience.
The Vantage S will make its global debut at the 2025 Goodwood Speed Festival, where it will showcase its performance on the traditional heel-and-toe course. The model is now available for order, with first customer deliveries expected in Q4 2025.
As part of a long-standing tradition, the Vantage S continues the legacy of ‘S’ derivatives, following the DBX S and preceding other models like the Vanquish S, V8 Vantage S, and V12 Vantage S. This lineage reflects Aston Martin’s commitment to innovation and performance, with each ‘S’ model pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the world of high-performance sports cars.
