Bunge FC Gifts Harambee Stars Sh1 Million Before CHAN Clash

A Boost in Morale for Harambee Stars Ahead of CHAN Tournament

Harambee Stars, Kenya’s national football team, received a significant morale boost ahead of the upcoming CHAN (Championship of African Nations) tournament. The team was visited by a delegation from Parliament Football Club, known as Bunge FC, during a training session on Wednesday. This visit came at a crucial time, as the team prepares to face its first match against DR Congo on Sunday.

The delegation, led by team captain Otiende Amolo, offered words of encouragement and pledged their full support for the team. They also presented a token of Sh1 million as a gesture of solidarity. Amolo emphasized the importance of this visit, stating that the members of Bunge FC are committed to ensuring that all issues affecting the team’s preparations are addressed.

“We are here to encourage the Stars and their technical bench ahead of this important assignment,” said Amolo. “We are also here to affirm our commitment to supporting the team and ensuring that any outstanding matters affecting preparations are addressed.”

Amolo added that the lawmakers intend to attend all matches, both in Kenya and abroad, to show their unwavering support for the national team. He also highlighted that the cash donation was a collective gesture from Bunge FC members, reflecting their belief in the team’s potential to succeed on home soil.

Support from Key Legislators

Jack Wamboka, the Bumula MP, reiterated the MPs’ full backing for the team, saying, “We are here to ensure everything is in place as you prepare. Know that the country, and Parliament, is behind you.”

Other legislators also joined in offering words of encouragement. Migori Senator Eddie Okech urged the players to “chase your dreams, play with heart, and give your best on the pitch.” Moses Kirima of Central Imenti, who led the team in prayer, reminded the players that international scouts would be watching closely. “This is your moment, put your best foot forward,” he said.

Embakasi South MP Julius Mawathe called on fans to support the team with pride and unity. “You have come this far through sheer resilience. Fly the Kenyan flag high,” he added.

Encouragement from FKF CEO

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) CEO Harold Ndege expressed his gratitude for the MPs’ gesture, stating that it would go a long way in motivating the players. “The team is well-prepared and ready. We urge Kenyans to fill the stadiums and cheer them on,” said Ndege.

Aboud Omar, the captain of Harambee Stars, spoke on behalf of the players, expressing how much the visit had lifted their spirits. “This show of support means a lot to us. We are ready for Sunday and committed to making the country proud,” said Omar.

Omar also encouraged fans to turn out in large numbers and wear red to show their support. The team will don red jerseys for the tournament, and Kenyans have been encouraged to purchase official merchandise and rally behind the Stars as they begin their CHAN journey.

Looking Ahead to the Tournament

As the team prepares for its first match against DR Congo, the support from various quarters has reinforced their determination. With the backing of Parliament, the FKF, and the Kenyan public, the Harambee Stars are set to make their mark in the tournament.

The team’s success will not only depend on their performance on the field but also on the unity and support they receive from fans and officials alike. As the countdown to the tournament continues, the message is clear: the entire nation is behind the Stars.
