Stone’s longtime hair stylist Mara Roszak started building the look by using a rattail comb to create a “precise side part”. From there, she used a Dyson hair dryer to dry the hair smooth, applied RŌZ Evergreen Style Cream, and reached for a fine-tooth comb to create the quintessential “S” wave.
Colorist royalty Tracey Cunningham is behind Stone’s copper shade, a hue that Cunningham refers to as “rich nutmeg”. According to a press release, Cunnigham used Schwarzkopf Professionals’ demi-permanent dye in Igora Vibrance, a rich red.
To achieve Emma Stone’s 1920s-30s inspired fingerwave hairstyle, I created a precise side part using a rattail comb, aligning it with the arch of the eyebrow. Then, I used the Dyson Supersonic™ r Professional Hair Dryer at high heat and high air flow settings to dry hair smooth.
The flapper-era fingerwave and warm red color pair perfectly with her beaded silver Louis Vuitton gown. Makeup-wise, she kept things simple and sophisticated with blush pink lipstick and cheeks and a subtly feathered brow. The overall look is stunning, but we simply can’t take our eyes off that hair. If Stone has hit Pixie Stage 3 this quickly, there’s no telling where she’ll go from here.
