Stanley Ho’s Daughter Cancels Taiwan Show to Support Husband Amid Health Struggle

Josie Ho Cancels Taiwan Performance to Support Husband’s Medical Needs

Hong Kong actress and singer Josie Ho has made the difficult decision to cancel her upcoming performance in Taiwan. This move comes as she prioritizes her husband, actor Conroy Chan, who is currently facing urgent health concerns. The announcement highlights the couple’s deep commitment to each other, especially during challenging times.

Originally scheduled for August 10, Ho’s concert in Taiwan was a major event for her fans. However, in a public statement, she shared that she will be stepping away from work commitments to accompany her husband for necessary medical treatment. “My husband of 21 years experienced sudden discomfort recently, and after a medical evaluation, the doctor advised immediate surgery in the U.S.,” she said. “As his wife, I must be by his side throughout the process. All necessary medical plans have been arranged.”

Conroy Chan, 53, has a history of serious health issues. In 2022, he suffered a life-threatening ruptured aorta, which led to severe internal bleeding. Although his condition had improved over time, recent developments have required immediate surgical intervention. Doctors have now recommended an operation in the United States, prompting Ho to make this tough choice.

In December 2023, Chan revealed he was preparing for two operations—one minor and one major procedure involving the aorta near his heart. At that time, doctors advised postponing the more serious operation unless his condition worsened, emphasizing the importance of maintaining heart stability. Now, with his health taking a turn, the couple is focusing on addressing the issue head-on.

The couple met in 2003 and married in Australia. They have since co-founded a film production company, demonstrating their shared passion for the entertainment industry. Despite their successful careers, they have publicly stated their decision not to have children, choosing instead to focus on their creative and business pursuits.

Josie Ho, daughter of the late Macau casino tycoon Stanley Ho, has had a long and distinguished career in the entertainment industry. She began her journey in 1994 and has since built a reputation as a versatile performer in both film and music. Her father, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 99, was one of the region’s wealthiest individuals. Bloomberg estimated his net worth at US$14.9 billion in 2019.

Following Stanley Ho’s death, the majority of his fortune was distributed among his daughter Pansy Ho, fourth wife Angela Leong, and son Lawrence Ho. This distribution underscores the significant impact of his legacy on his family.

The couple’s decision to prioritize health over professional obligations reflects their deep bond and mutual support. As they navigate this challenging period, fans and followers are expressing their well-wishes and support for both Josie Ho and Conroy Chan.

Their story serves as a reminder of the importance of family and the sacrifices that come with it. While the future remains uncertain, the couple’s commitment to each other remains unwavering. As they prepare for the upcoming medical procedures, their strength and resilience continue to inspire those around them.
